Role: EHS Lead

Location: Cork

Salary: Negotiable DOE

Our client a professional construction, development and property management company are currently recruiting for a EHS Lead for Cork location.

EHS Lead Role Duties:

  • Assisting the management team with the management of numerous PSCS projects
  • Chairing morning whiteboard meetings on the relevant sites
  • Conducting site inspections and audits and presenting findings to the management teams
  • Presenting on a weekly basis, site statistics & project updates
  • Maintaining a site training matrix for all craft & staff and arranging/providing training where applicable
  • Development of Design &/or Construction stage plans for upcoming projects
  • Maintaining the safety management CMS system
  • Managing the delivery of toolbox talks with all site teams
  • Arranging onsite safety promotion reward schemes and initiatives
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations
  • Reports to and from Site Managers/Supervisors and Project Manager
  • Is familiar with the contents of the Group safety statement, environment manual, risk assessments, aspects & impacts, legislation and procedures.
  • Provides advice, guidance, instruction, and training in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including where applicable to sub-contractors, suppliers and visitors to sites).
  • Carries out internal audits and site inspections in conjunction with Site Management, recommends corrective actions, improvements and document findings.
  • Prepares in conjunction with site management team a project specific EHS Plan, induction and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS). These shall be compiled and agreed prior to work commencing and ongoing through lookaheads.
  • Ensures that the project specific EHS Plan, induction and RAMS are up to date, reviewed periodically and communicated to all relevant persons (including clients, Main Contractor, other contractors, visitors and others who may be affected by that work).
  • Visits each new project, sets up the necessary site safety files registers, abstracts of regulations, posters, SEOR program, etc., and ensures that site establishment complies with the legislation, client regulations and company regulations as a minimum.
  • Reviews Contractor Appointments and ensures that correct appointment is carried out and that only competent contractors are used on projects.
  • Prepares Monthly KPI Report for their projects, issues monthly return of Site Visit Schedule, SEORs, KPIs, violations to the EHS Manager and the Project Manager. Issues new SDS to EHS Manager.

Site Specific Tasks:

  • Checking and Tracking GA1, GA2 and GA3's
  • On Site inductions / Checking of Relevant Training
  • Weekly Health and Safety Walks / Responding to Health and Safety Reports
  • Checking of Site Specific RAM's / Safety Statements before contractors start on site etc.
  • Using BIM to track incidents on site / Planed Vs Actuals / Good catch card
  • Issuing of permits on site
  • Issuing of Safe Work Plans
  • Creating and maintaining registers ie. (Lifting register, Plant Register, Induction register)
  • Health and Safety on Boarding
  • Arranging training.
  • Delivering Tool Box Talk / Facilitating TBT
  • Updating Health and safety plans / Covid Plans
  • Tracking results of Antagen Tests.
