We at Protocol are partnering with a reputable company in the West London area to recruit for an Electrical Engineering Assessor to assess apprentices at levels 2-4. This is on a full-time permanent basis startling as soon as possible.
You will have a responsibility for delivering training in line with nationally recognised Apprenticeship standards and lead body requirements.
Role responsibilities
Design and delivery of electrical unit 'Maintaining Electrical Equipment and Systems' of the Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations NVQ programme.
Responsible for design and delivering the engineering technical training, theory and competence programmes to the agreed Apprenticeship standards, embedding Maths and English learning objectives as appropriate.
Delivery of training and assessment using a range of methods within own area of expertise.
Provide mentoring, coaching and support to learners, in order to achieve learning objectives and qualification requirements.
Providing ongoing and constructive feedback to apprentices using appropriate methods to recognise achievements and inform future learning objectives
Utilise One File e-portfolio system to fully track the planning and delivery of all relevant training and assessment processes
Monitoring progress of learners in order to identify support requirements, applying appropriate interventions and teaching methodologies to support achievement
Liaise and work collaboratively with the Apprenticeship Development Managers on the progress of each apprentice to support them through the scheme.
Ensuring the design and delivery of necessary training material and equipment to meet identified learning objectives and assessment outcomes, in line with awarding body and Ofsted requirements.
Responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential training records on each apprentice in line with GDPR, providing periodical reports on progress and ability of individuals.
Accountable for the discipline, welfare and safe working environment within the training area, including regular safety inspections.
Deliver all local induction training, key skills and all relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Ensuring and maintaining occupational competency and own continuous professional development in line with LU's Competence Management System and awarding body requirements.
The person & qualifications
Proven practical experience in one of the Engineering Disciplines to a minimum of HNC or equivalent.
Experience in an electrical installation and maintenance discipline
Previous experience of working in a training environment in an Engineering Discipline.
Experience of conducting thorough training needs analyses at all levels.
Experience of designing and developing learner-centred training materials, using a range of methodologies including e-learning and blended learning techniques
A1 assessor award or equivalent qualification
Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
