The Role - Electrical Design & Development Engineer The successful candidate will be responsible for producing practical solutions for light commercial vehicles, in line with customers requirements. You must be self motivated, hardworking and flexible, in return you will receive a competitive salary, company related bonus scheme and the chance to be a part of a company leading the way in their industry. The ideal candidate will come from a hands-on background who has taken the leap into the design and projects team. Someone with a background in inspection and testing would be advantageous. Working on projects from initial customer enquiry to completion
Design wiring looms, lighting and cable preparation kits etc.
Working with the sales and design departments to understand customer requirements and develop a suitable solution
Attending client meetings as required
Taking accurate records of installations and providing technical support to our sales and workshop teams Assisting the shop floor staff from time to time with commissioning and installation Accurately entering information in to the company MRP system and testing new products/solutions to support decision making

Come from a hands-on/shop floor background, for example maintenance and will have moved in to a more design and projects based role
Experience of working with the sales, design and production team to meet customer requirements
Knowledge and previous experience in using electrical cad packages, training will be provided on their own package
Good communication skills and commercially switched on
A flexible approach as this will involve work within the design and workshop departments
Experience in working with electrics from 12V to 3 phase
