You will have the opportunity to work as a Electrical design engineer in a public sector environment - predominantly on schools projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your career as a electrical design engineer for a forward thinking and moving local authority in the busy design department.

Job Role

You will be an experienced electrical design engineer with specific public sector experience in the design, build and refurb on schools across the Derbyshire area. You will provide design from concept to completion in a cost effective manner, this will be in line with the councils capital and maintenance projects. Your key responsibility will be for the electrical services and installation design.

You will have a good level of proficiency in the use of autocad and a familiarity of design code and master series. You will be responsible as a electrical design engineer for producing design and writing specification for electrical installations.

You will be responsible for ensuring the budgetary restraints are adhered to in line with the authorities financial policies. You will liaise with contractors and engineers to ensure effective communication is adhered and provide internal and external customers with reports surrounding feasibility.

Person

As a electrical design engineer you will have a minimum level of qualification at HND in an engineering discipline, ideally a degree level.

You will have:

  • A proven track record in delivering cost effective projects
  • Experience in multi discipline projects
  • An ability to proactively problem solve within design field
  • An ability to write concise and informative reports
  • Experience in contract preparation and documentation
  • A good knowledge around regulation
  • Autocad experience
