Electrical Engineer Location: Rushden/Wellingborough, Nothamptonshire Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer, to join the Prison Estates Transformation Project (PETP) team and will report to the ­­­­MEP project lead. The project is a multimillion pound scheme currently in the pre-construction phase. The role is primarily based in the Kier Office Rushden, although there would be an expectation to attend regular meeting in Central London. During Construction phase the role will migrate to site (Wellingborough).

The successful candidate must have relevant experience and ability to demonstrate these in the following activities:-
  • Technical & financial review of electrical packages.
  • Assist in enquiry and scope of works production
  • Input into technical and cost build-up of (Contractor Design Portion) CDP packages.
  • Review co-ordination and builderability of design
  • Identify risks and opportunities with individual packages.
  • Compliance with employers requirements assessments
  • Interfaces with construction, mechanical and specialist packages.
  • Assist the Design Manager with electrical design completeness and robustness assessments.
  • Review/Monitor against design & procurement programme
  • Collation of relevant information for market testing of packages
  • Communication with supply chain
  • Production of scope of works to project specific brief.
  • Health and Safety inspections with effective communications (KIER SUSA)
  • Management of QA & QC processes
  • Sequence of works and reporting on progress.
  • Attend and contribute in team meetings
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • CSCS card holder (Black)
  • Relevant Industry H&S qualifications as SMSTS
  • Holds the relevant industry qualifications
    • C&G, ONH, or equal (essential)
    • HNC or higher (desirable).
  • Good communicator, verbally and written
  • Time management and planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to form effective relationships within and external to the team
  • IT Literate
