We're delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an Electrician at our Wickwar Quarry based in South Gloucestershire. Key Responsibilities As an electrician you'll enjoy problem solving and working as part of a wider team. You'll be working to identify the root cause for electrical defects and breakdowns, offering solutions to problematic equipment, aiming to resolve problems in a time efficient and safe manner. You'll support the wider Maintenance team to identify and support preventative maintenance activities across our quarry and asphalt plant.

You will be also be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure that our quarry operates safely and reliably. You will also play a key 'hands on' role in the planning and implementation of plant improvements. You will need to have the ability to quickly fault find, respond to any unplanned plant shutdowns and work closely with other team members and contractors as required. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise You will ideally have a ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and work experience in a heavy industrial environment.
Other requirements are as follows:
  • Time served/apprentice trained Electrical Engineering craftsman
  • PLC and VSD Experience (desirable)
  • Good working knowledge of 415V 3 phase motors and DC motors
  • Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation
  • 17th / 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certificate
  • A good understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.
  • Be able to interpret electrical drawings
  • A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing - qualifications in this area would be desirable
  • A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations
  • Computer literate
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
