Electrical Installation Engineer

Lincoln and Kings Lynn

Kier Utilities is looking to recruit an Electrical Installation Engineer based within the Kings Lynn area, covering works in Norwich and Lincolnshire, who will report to the Delivery Manager. The successful post-holder will be responsible for fault finding, undertaking electrical installation, repairs and maintenance work to a high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake high quality electrical installation, repairs and maintenance work in accordance with regulations and legislation
  • Undertake fault-finding and diagnostic work as required to repair and maintain electrical plant such as pumps, screens, motors, instrumentation & switch gear.
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation is processed and systems are completed in a timely manner
  • Carry out inspection and testing on existing installations, as work progresses and on completed work recording results and completing appropriate test certification
  • Undertake visual inspection of all tools, equipment and where appropriate vehicles ensuring they work correctly, reporting any defects
  • Conduct work in accordance with the required specification current legislation, Kier company policies, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimising damage to the fabric of the property

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, City & Guilds 2361 Part 1 & 2, 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations) plus testing & commissioning.
  • Previous work experience in a similar role
  • Able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Holder of appropriate CSCS card
  • Possess good communication skills, reasonable written and numerical skills
  • Show a willingness to be helpful, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Possess strong self-motivation and be a good self-organiser to carry out necessary duties
  • Experience / certification of the following required / desirable:
    • NIC / EIC
    • Experience of water & waste water
    • COMPEX / DSEAR
    • Solar systems
    • Switchgear & control panel assembly
    • Commissioning analytical & digital instrumentation
    • Telemetry
    • Confined spaces
    • SSSTS
