We are currently recruiting a key role for a time-served Electrician looking to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of construction materials. You will assist with the day to day maintenance, servicing and repair of production and machinery at our Greystone Quarry. About the role You will be working on a quarry site alongside a maintenance department carrying out the service, inspection, installation and testing of electrical equipment incorporating plant, site buildings, consumables and cables. The completion of maintenance schedules and inspection and test certificates. Elements to the role include: Contribute to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures Respond to unplanned repairs and other requirements Respond to plant breakdowns – ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free Deal with all daily issues professionally and liaise with site management on a regular basis Support and train operatives to complete tasks To carry out the daily plant inspections; complete the forms and where a problem exists notify management immediately Be responsible for the plant assets that are entrusted to you i.e. materials, plant buildings, and equipment and stores used therein and efficient employment of them To react promptly and effectively to site breakdowns by liaising with operatives and assisting where needed Complete and adhere to all Safety related documentation for all maintenance activates Day to day inspection and maintenance of all electrical equipment on site to ensure it works efficiently is safe and complies with the legislative standards appertaining to the quarry Cleaning, checking, testing and proving, maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical plant and equipment to ensure an uninterrupted source of power for the entire operation. Equipment may include drive motors, control panels, substations, programmable automated control systems, sensor and detector checks, and tests , motor contactors, timers, relays, overload and cut-off switches, various electrical safety equipment such as pull wire checks, electrical emergency stopping mechanisms and isolation systems. What will you bring? Working Knowledge of the Quarries Electrical Legislation and standards (EAW) 1989 and HSE Document Electrical Safety in Quarries Knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition wiring regulations & City & Guild 2382 qualified Experience with fault finding and identification and repair. Work on a wide range of plant and equipment Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Completed mechanical & electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and be qualified NVQ L3 or equivalent in plant maintenance IT-literacy What can we offer you?
