Catfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with a well-established international Power Generation company. They are looking to recruit an Engineering Technician (Generators) on a permanent basis to their expanding team.

Engineering Technician (Generators) Main roles & responsibilities:

* To ensure the operation & maintenance of all operational generator sets plant and gas systems to achieve maximum safe electrical output and to support the efficient commissioning of new generators.
* Planned maintenance and breakdown response on the generator sets with minimum outages
* Provide callout response to generator failures and site faults. (1 week in 6)
* Operation and maintenance of LFG Systems
* Assist commissioning new generator sets
* Taking accurate regular records which are forwarded to HO
* Managing time and travel effectively, staying away from home where appropriate
* A commitment to continuous enhancement of your skills and knowledge, and that of the technicians working with you
* Seek guidance and advice from the engineering and management team in anything you are unsure of
* A commitment to Health & Safety practices following all procedures and using your own judgement
* Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing
* Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skills with regard to environmental protection and emergency preparedness skills.
* Procurement of environmental protection equipment and materials.
* Deal directly with spillages using pollution prevention equipment

Engineering Technician (Generators) - The job holder is responsible for:
* Liaising with the Supervisor and other management
* Maintenance of all mechanical and electrical plant used in the operations of LFG
* Maintenance of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency
* HV switching subject to training and competency
* Work & monitoring on the gasfield to maintain the fuel source for the generators
* Repairing and maintaining the generator
* Their own safety and that of others
* Showing the company in a good light by maintaining a clean, well-run site at all times
* Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company
* Reducing the company's reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.
* Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Manager is replenished and always to hand should there be a breakdown
* Supervision of contractors
* Compliance with legislation

Engineering Technician (Generators)
On a daily basis the position involves close, regular contact with the Supervisor, and management who will direct you, technicians will contact you for advice and guidance during normal hours and outside these hours in line with the on-call ROTA

You will work closely with Site Technicians supporting them during servicing and guiding them or helping them to deal with breakdowns
The position involves the job holder in scheduling and prioritising his/her work to achieve agreed targets.

The job holder needs to have extensive knowledge and experience of primarily electrical, but also mechanical and generators. Experience of working with Landfill Gas is beneficial

A sensible approach to Health & Safety, cost control, prioritising of tasks and supervision is also expected.
