We are currently looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Highways team to support the implementation of the Kier Highways 'Driving for Sustainability' Strategy in our Local Highways contracts as well as ensuring ongoing environmental legal and other compliance obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting Environmental Advisor role, you'll be responsible for site inspections and audits to ensure ongoing legal and other compliance obligations are met. You'll also ensure that environmental assessment of schemes designed by Kier to ensure all compliance obligations are identified and suitable controls are in place on sire to manage environmental/ecological risks. This role also includes site visits to ensure all controls and recommendations identified in environmental assessments are implemented on-site. In addition, you'll support the ongoing maintenance of our ISO14001:2015 environmental management system and assist with the mobilisation of new contracts and the demobilisation of contracts coming to an end.
What do we need from you?
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (or equivalent), an associate or professional level member of IEMA or equivalent.
- Experience of in working in environmental management, preferably in a construction environment, which will include assessing / identifying the environmental impacts associated with proposed works and being able to identify potential risks / issues on site and advise on appropriate control / mitigation measures.
- Good knowledge and practical experience of maintaining, implementing and improving EMS's certified to BS EN ISO 14001;
- Practical experience of carrying out compliance inspections and / or audits resulted in improved performance
