Are you an experinced Environmental Advisor looking for a new challenge? We are working on an excellent opportunity with a contractor who is currently looking to add an Environmental Advisor to their Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team.

The role will be involved in the delivery of a live project, working closely with site teams to implement and enhance environmental processes and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, self-motivated, and solution-focused, with a practical approach to environmental site management.

Duties

Operate in line with internal environmental policies and procedures.

Maintain a strong understanding of current environmental legislation and ensure on-site compliance.

Provide advice, support, and training to construction delivery teams on environmental compliance and best practices.

Monitor site energy consumption and work towards performance improvements and carbon footprint reduction.

Conduct regular site inspections, producing reports and recommendations for improvement.

Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001, and relevant environmental permits and licenses.

Oversee water pollution prevention, particularly silt management, including the collection of water samples.

Contribute to the development of innovative environmental solutions, such as renewable energy integration for site equipment.

Liaise with regulators, environmental specialists, and client representatives as required.

Support the preparation of written bids for new projects and environmental awards.

Track and report on environmental objectives and targets.

Assist with audits and support accreditation processes.

Monitor dust and noise levels on site.

Oversee site ecology management practices.

Contribute to the design and rollout of initiatives aimed at increasing environmental awareness and performance.

Produce environmental activity reports and contribute to monthly project reporting.

Investigate environmental incidents and near-misses.

Candidate:

In-depth knowledge of current environmental legislation and industry best practices.

Strong grasp of core environmental principles and regulations.

Proficiency in report writing and legal compliance.

Organised, self-driven, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Possession of a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications:

Degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.

Recognised environmental qualification.

Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, IOSH) - desirable.

SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) certification.

Valid CSCS card.
