Title: Environmental Advisor

Project: Hinkle Point C, Somerset.


Kier and our joint venter partners are looking for a experienced Environmental Advisor who will be a key member of the delivery team, assisting with the development and delivery of large and complex project and o support and advise the Hinkley Point C project in all areas of environmental management.

Your key activities will include:

  • Set a personal example by adopting best practice.
  • Identify and manage environmental planning requirements for projects.
  • Monitor and develop environmental performance across the projects.
  • Ensure environment issues are discussed at review meetings.
  • Advise and guide managers, agents and others in setting up, implementing and maintaining environmental mitigation measures.
  • Review RAMS and other construction documentation for compliance with project environmental requirements.
  • Communicate and promote environment management ethos and concepts.
  • Develop and deliver training and presentations.
  • Foster good relationships with stakeholders - regulators (EA, LA's etc) / consultants and other supply chain specialists.
  • Prepare / submit reports as required.
  • Communicate best practice across the business.
  • Carry out regular audits and inspections of sites, supply chain etc.
  • Incident investigation and reporting.
  • Mentor and coach staff with environment duties / responsibilities.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline.
  • Experience of Civil Engineering or Construction and large multidisciplinary projects preferred.
  • Experience of driving and assessing sustainability.
  • The ability to positively influence others.
  • Adaptable team player with good initiative and strong problem solving skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated with the ability to self-learn.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
