Our Infrastructure Services business is looking for an Environmental Advisor to join the environment team to support the delivery of highways and development contracts at Hinkley Point C. This role will report to the Senior Environmental Advisor and will support the delivery of this main contractor's environmental strategy.
You'll:
- Assist the Senior Environmental Advisor to develop, implement and monitor Contract Environment Management Systems and the requirements of their Integrated Management System 'Our Way of Working' to meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2015
- Assist the Senior Environmental Advisor to develop, implement and monitor the Contract Social Value agenda
- Assist with the review of environmental management plans, risk assessments and method statements
- Support operational teams in the production of internal and external reports and undertake and/or assist with the monitoring, analysis of and reporting of environmental performance
- Provide advice and guidance on environmental disciplines at design stage and develop mitigation and improvement solutions for a diverse range of projects
- Undertake regular Environmental Inspections and Audits of operational sites and depots.
- Undertake regular supply chain inspections and audits
- Provide advice and guidance and assist with the obtaining legal consents, licenses and exemptions
- Provide operational and functional advice on pollution prevention and the prevention of environmental incidents. Investigate and advise on environmental incidents, near misses and other incidents
- Assist in the delivery of environmental training and briefings
- Research and implement environmental best practice and continual improvement. Promote continuous improvement and efficiency through sustainable and environmentally sound innovation.
We're looking for:
- Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline (ideal)
- Experience and capability for managing ecology and biodiversity
- Experience and capability for managing waste and contaminated land
- Construction industry experience
- Member of a relevant professional body or demonstrable relevant experience in the environment and sustainability field (desirable)
- Full driving licence
- Computer literate with Moderate IT Skills
