The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an environmental advisor to join our Infrastructure Team team working on various projects in London-centric areas and in Kent, We can accommodate this role on a full-time basis or across 3-day part-time working,

This position is to support the Infrastructure Environmental Sustainability Leader to implement strategies, drive innovation and provide environmental assurance across multiple projects. This role is visiting site inspection role, where you will be required to carry out an inspection and ensure the site is regulation are compliant.

You will provide environmental support to projects and the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) function by assuring compliance with LOR Environmental Management System and providing advice on environmental site issues.

What will the role look like?

  • Champion the implementation of the business environmental sustainability strategy and support project teams with development of their project commitments
  • Support the delivery teams to implement their Environmental and Energy Management Plans
  • Provide support to the project Environmental Coordinator in the delivery of the key sustainability objectives with regards to environmental plans
  • Support in the provision of environmental engineering solutions so that the latest developments and innovations in permanent and temporary works are considered during construction
  • Ensure the project complies with environmental legislation and minimise risks of potential breaches leading to prosecution
  • Encourage project delivery teams to pursue innovation and implement best practice and to keep environmental issues on their agendas
  • Promote the reduction of energy use and carbon emissions
  • Prepare to travel across 3 sites

Technical

  • Statistical reporting and analysis
  • Setting standards and ensuring compliance
  • Inspection and participation in incident investigation
  • taking on responsibility and supporting the project

Key Skills

  • Good communication skills and IT competence levels
  • Logical and well organized
  • Numerate, literate and accurate
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A proactive response to pressure
  • Ability to manage change and adapt to new procedures
  • Relevant HND or degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Has experience in collecting and processing information in accordance with established frameworks
  • Is proficient in data input to database systems Produces accurate standard reports in a timely manner. Able to utilise information from standard reports to identify trends in performance
