We're looking for an Environmental Waste Manager to join our team in Ely on the Anglian Water Alliance.



Location: Isleham, Ely

Contract: Permanent- Full Time, part time/ flexible hours may be available, just let us know



Responsibilities

As Environmental Waste Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at any permitted or exempt waste operations within Anglian Water region on behalf of Kier or Clancy permit owners. This also includes site inspections, audits and general reporting. You'll be required to maintain high standards of H&S and wellbeing whilst safeguarding the environment.



You will need to ensure requirements of any Regulator (e.g. Environment Agency and/ or Local Authority) environmental permits, any NWFD's are developed where required to ensure compliance with the Waste Duty of Care.



An important part of this role will be to develop, coordinate, submit and manage any future environmental permits and exemptions required to include innovation and operational efficiencies to reduce waste outputs and exploit further recycling opportunities.

Working closely with Commercial & Procurement teams to lead on materials recycling opportunities; reduce waste costs in Anglian Water and Partners.



Your day to day will include:

  • Working with current operations and compliance teams, benchmark existing 'state of play' compliance within business supply chain including subcontractors, identify key areas for improvement, where possible benchmarking against industry or similar business' and develop/ deliver improvement plans to drive continual improvement


  • Develop and deliver suite reporting to demonstrate compliance and improvement to agreed metrics and targets via performance reporting team


  • Hold business to account for all waste related issues via agreed metrics and innovation methods within agreed governance


  • Develop and deliver transition plan for RPS211 with existing internal stakeholders to ensure business remains legally compliant


  • Be the point of contact for Environment Agency permit maintenance and reporting


What are we looking for?

This role of Environmental Waste Manager is great for you if you hold:



  • Experience working within the waste industry, ideally with a civils or utilities background
  • Experience of managing and leading operational teams
  • WAMITAB Level 4 qualification
  • Valid driving licence
