We are now recruiting for an Estimator to join our Highways team to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analysing important data.
Key Responsibilities
The Estimator to join the team will be required to work on a large volume of major project tenders that will be tendered in short to medium term. You will be tendering on some of the most exciting projects, the successful applicant will be responsible for the preparation of analytical tenders on a competitive or negotiated basis. Assist/Manage the production of tender documents. You will need to analyse risks and opportunities for board approval as well as data to inform and, or challenge solution development. An important element of the role will be to input to quality submissions and operational solution appropriate along with maintaining and developing pricing libraries and estimating software. You will need to attend pre-tender interviews where required and post tender presentations, as well as managing robust and long-term relationships with clients and design teams in line with the general strategy. A vital part of this position will be to ensure tender governance is adhered to. Duties will also include complying with estimating processes to ensure it conforms with standing orders, provide data as requested to review the performance of the supply chain member. You will also be expected to work in conjunction with administration staff in preparation of the estimate. Provide data as requested to review the performance of the supply chain member.
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience within a similar role is highly important
- A degree or education that is relevant to the role would be highly advantageous
- Confident in estimating functions surrounding tenders
- Stakeholder management experience
- Strong analytical background
