Location: Leeds or Northwich or Warwick

Project: Canal and River Trust

Kier Regional Civil Engineering is looking to recruit an Estimator/Senior Estimator who will report to the Managing Estimator. The successful post-holder will be responsible for producing target costs on contract within an existing framework, maximising the commercial position of Kier whilst securing opportunities in line with the Business Plan objectives. Suitable for Estimator or someone looking to move from delivery or commercial team into estimating. Opportunities for development and working in the wider business. Experience of Water / Canals or coastal Civils would be preferential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take-off in line with CESMM
  • Building up target cost using Causeway estimating software using agreed rates and ability to produce star rates where not covered.
  • Manage all aspects of quoted works process in order to maximise revenue and operating profit
  • Estimate the costs of projects in order to meet or exceed the client's requirements
  • Determine contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
  • Support the fulfilment of the programme of works safely, on time and to the required quality while maximising the gross profit and client's satisfaction
  • Implement all of Kier Group's policies including those for SHE and risk management
  • Promote Kier Group's values towards its customer in order to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Obtain suitable market quotations to substantiate the prime cost utilising the Kier Supply Chain.
  • Deliver accurate cost submissions and convey at the adjudication meeting in a professional and logical manner.
  • Advise line Manager of improvements / innovation within the company or externally that you become aware of.
  • Manage workload and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Integrate into the commercial and delivery teams.
  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Have strong organisational skills and able to present information in a logical manner
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Able to work as an individual and work co-operatively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
