We are looking for a Façade Manager for one of our Ongoing projects on Kensington High Street.
The project consists of High End Residential Apartments, a retained Grade listed Façade, Underground Spa and swimming pool, Mechanical revolving Car park and number of cinemas, This is a real super structure!
Ideally we are looking for candidates that have worked themselves up from a trade background and then into management. You will need to have time spent as a manager ideally for a Tier 1/Main Contractor/Large Subcontractor.
Main Purpose:
To coordinate and manage the design, manufacture and installation of the curtain walling system, including balcony finishes, window /glazing installation, associated wall finishes as well as waterproofing required.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
H&S
- Ensures that the works are undertaken in strict accordance with all HS&E legislation, and the Health and Safety and Environmental Plans
- Maintains high levels of health & safety throughout the project ensuring work is always carried out in a safe manner.
QA
- Ensures diligent QA procedures are in place for the whole façade package and adhered too; Fieldview protocols are followed
- Checks quality of work & manages snagging works to completion and sign off by client
- Manages all on-site and off-site testing
- Supervises the chain of custody ensuring that all required finishes are as described in the ERs and contract, and thoroughly tested.
- Responsible for photographic evidence of installation
- Responsible for setting out and dimensional checks.
Internal and external coordination
- Acts as the principal contact for the facade contractor commercially and operationally.
- Chairs regular façade package meetings.
- Collaborates extensively with in-house design teams, factory design teams, factory manager, haulage manager, crane coordinators, trade foremen, engineers for dimensional controls, and specialist testing houses.
- Responsible for all logistical and transport interfaces together with associated factory visits to allow smooth running of material coordination between suppler and sites
Planning and programming
- Ensures that deadlines are met by liaising with sub-contractors and the Project Manager.
- Produces program of works and ensures that it works in unison with brickwork and scaffolding/mast climbers or any systems chosen on a particular project
- Reports progress to site management and records progress against a program deadline
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
Required*
- NVQ Level 6 in Site management or equivalent
- SMSTS
- CSCS black card (management)
Desirable
- NHBC Standards
- 4 Projects
- Fieldview
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Required*
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office 2016)
- Ability to use 4 Projects and read/ communicate drawing
- Ability to use Fieldview (for snagging and QA)
- Understanding of Heritage and listed building facades
- Understanding of Part B regulations
- Ability to meet deadlines: delivers projects on time
Desirable*
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar position with a main contractor
- Knowledge of JCT contracts
- Knowledge of MS Projects or ASTA
