Kier Places are recruiting now for an M&E Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Farnham Hospital to support the Contract Manager in delivering an effective Facilities Management Hard & Technical Maintenance Services solution in line with performance and contractual measures for our prestigious client, Farnham Hospital.

This is a hands-on role with supervisory duties, meaning you will deliver maintenance tasks whilst supporting the rest of the maintenance team, including managing 3 direct reports of an Electrician, Multi Skilled Engineer, and an Administrator, as well as Sub-Contractors where required.


Key Responsibilities

As our M&E Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, reporting into the Contract Manager, your role will be to key to ensuring all M&E, Building Fabric, Planned & Reactive elements of the service are delivered in accordance with the contract obligations & to Statutory Compliance requirements, which will include overseeing and managing the PPM and reactive maintenance activities; monitoring KPIs and entering into the CAFM system; manage all health & safety, COSHH and permit to work systems across the site; review of RAMS and liaison with supply chain; and induction and monitoring of subcontractors.

In the people management aspect of this role, you will be responsible for recruitment and development of staff including annual appraisals, managing staff absenteeism, and disciplinary issues.

This is a hands-on role with supervisory duties, meaning you will deliver maintenance tasks whilst supporting the rest of the maintenance team, so knowledge of building systems is essential, as well as participation with On Call / Evening and Weekend callout as per the rota (currently 1 week in 3).


What do we need from you?

To be an M&E Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with Kier, you should have solid experience in a Building Services / Property Maintenance / Facilities Management role as an Engineer; have some people management experience; have the ability to manage and prioritise varying and demanding workloads and deliver projects on time and to budget; the ability to maintain and manage the client relationship on a daily basis.

The successful person for this role will have Level 3 Electrical qualification with at least 17th Edition Wiring; competence in Planned and Reactive Maintenance; working knowledge of statutory requirements and current H&S legislation; and knowledge of Minor Works & project delivery.

It would be highly desirable if you also have good IT, CAFM & Tablet skills; Healthcare / HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) knowledge; knowledge of or experience within a PFI environment; Managing ISOH Certificate and CSCS Card; Water Safety Awareness (L8); and any further Level 3 Building Services related qualifications.
