Our client is involved with heavy materials handling incorporating heavy capacity lift trucks, container handlers and hydraulic cranes largely used in various ports and other heavy industries nationwide.
The client is currently looking to recruit experienced Field Service Engineers
Ideal home locations, Essex, Yorkshire & Midlands
The field service engineer role includes, but is not limited, to the following:-
* Responding to engineering requirements as instructed by the line-manager. This may involve breakdown of equipment, inspections or general preventative maintenance.
As the field service engineer you will have:-
* Ability to manage and work on own initiative as well as follow instructions
* Must be an excellent communicator, customer-focused and able to keep their promises
* Have a heavy-plant bias. Plant engineers or agricultural engineers would be ideal
* Be prepared to work in the environment where the machine is worked. This may mean less than ideal circumstances and having to deal with inclement weather.
* Whilst it will always be the Company's intention to keep work locally, there may be instances when a long-drive maybe required to attend a breakdown
* Will have a friendly 'can-do' attitude and make customers feel comfortable that their issue will be sorted
* Be prepared for out-of-hours calls. (call out rates apply)
* As the field service engineer, you should have your own collection of personal tools that are applicable to heavy plant and industrial equipment, specialist tools will be provided by the company
Skills
* Hydraulic systems
* CI Engine systems - direct injection to common rail
* DC electrics and electronics
* Basic knowledge of air braking systems
* Oil immersed braking systems
* Power shift transmission preferable torque converter
* Basic skills and safety training.
* The Company operates a dedicated software programme (Protean) - Full training will be provided both in-house and also, if required, externally
* All other product and compliance training will be provided by the Company.
The Benefits
The salary of £28000 based on a 40-hour working week. Overtime is paid at differing rates dependent on time of working as is a one-off fee of £100 for out-of-hours call-outs which is additional to the premium hourly rates. Typically, engineers can earn £40000 - £45000 dependent on the amount of overtime they work.
A fully expensed and equipped Company commercial vehicle (Mercedes Sprinter) is provided for which personal use is allowed. The Company will issue users with a Company credit card for expenses and a fuel card for purchasing fuel.
Apprentice trained ideally.
