Why Renewco Power

Renewco Power is a newly formed renewable power business, with plans to become a leading European clean energy platform. Renewco will focus on developing utility-scale solar, wind and storage assets across Europe and U.S, with the aim of maximising the potential in clean energy projects. The company is targeting the development of over 4GW of renewable assets within five years.

Renewco's founders are a highly experienced and entrepreneurial group whose founders have over 100 years of combined renewables development and investment experience, having successfully developed more than 10GW+ of renewables in over 50 countries, raising more than £2 billion to finance these assets in the process. It is backed by a £24 million (€28 million) investment from Corran Capital who raised cornerstone funding from FT-SE 100 utility, SSE plc.

The role and you

Reporting to the CEO. This role will initially require a commitment of 2 days per week with at least one day in Central Glasgow shared office space. We are looking for an exceptional candidate for this role, a strategic thinker and advisor. You'll be hands-on, a starter/finisher and someone who will act as a trusted and respected advisor to the CEO and business divisional heads. Your experience will have been gained in a role that involved setting up new entities and SPV's in Europe and/or the US, ideally Renewable Energy, Solar Power or Utility Scale Developments. You'll be a fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) senior accountant with experience of setting up and managing international entities. The role will evolve into a full-time position within 12 months as and when more project SPVs are set up and international activities are further developed.

You should also have:

  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • A good understanding of managing tax in multi jurisdictions
  • A good working knowledge of transfer pricing
  • Experience of the set up administration and management of project SPVs
  • International experience - Preferably in Spain, Italy and US
  • Working in early stage development businesses is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communicator
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven ability of working under pressure
