The Finance Manager will provide financial expertise and support for Sales - England & Wales. Providing accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and ensuring the Business Unit operates effectively and correctly within the controls and guidelines set by the Portakabin Group. Role Details
  • Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Role based: York, YO32 9PT
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 25 plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the management team, analysing and interpreting the accounts and ensuring there is full understanding of the financial implications of decisions and issues affecting their business area.
  • Ensure that the Business Unit complies with all accounting policies of the Portakabin Group and make certain that accounting issues specific to the Business Unit are properly recognised and resolved.
  • Exert influence over decisions affecting the cash flow, profitability and long term sustainability of the business.
  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, ensuring that all Balance Sheet Accounts are reconciled each month, taking corrective action to guarantee timeliness and accuracy of information.
  • Support the annual audit process and liaise with the external auditors where necessary.
  • Coordinate and drive the annual budget process for the Business Unit ensuring all necessary reports are completed and deadlines met and a thorough budget is prepared.

Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has:
  • ACA / ACCA / ICAEW or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience of management accounting including statutory accounts
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Experience running annual audits
  • Demonstrable knowledge of producing budgets up to multi-millions
  • The ability to develop direct reports through coaching
  • Workable knowledge of SAP and Power BI or similar
