Fire Safety Surveyor Job in Kent / Remote Working
Great opportunity for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join a growing department of a reputable multidisciplinary consultancy based in Orpington, our client is looking to recruit two surveyors and would consider candidates who are at Graduate level where full training can be provided, or with 2+ years' experience as a Building Surveyor or Fire Safety Surveyor or Fire Engineer or Building Control Surveyor. The role offers an excellent benefits package, remote working, support with relevant qualifications and membership as well as the real chance to progress as this new department grows.
With around 320 staff and 6 offices, the consultancy work across multiple projects sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential and offering services across a wide range of disciplines including Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S.
Role & Responsibilities
- Site Inspections of new build and remedial residential projects across the Southeast
- Information gathering and product research
- Support with contract administration
- Advising both internal team members and external clients on materials / products in line with current building regulations and industry standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Background in construction preferably as a Building Surveying / Fire Engineer / NHBC Inspector / Building or Graduate Building Surveyor level
- Ideally qualified to HNC level in a relevant qualification
- Willing to undertake further relevant training and sit exams within fire safety if required (fully funded)
- Demonstrate the ability to research issues and obtain information from manufacturers, suppliers, British standards.
- Must have a CSCS card or be able to obtain one during the first 6 months of employment
- Basic understanding of Building Regulations and Industry Standards
- An interest in technical detail and fire safety/ fire protection within construction
- An understanding of contract administration and experience of document management systems would be advantageous
- UK Driving Licence and own car
- Willing to travel across the Southeast to sites
