The Job:

Elk Recruitment is looking for a Culinary Fit Out Project Manager for our client to coordinate across all facets of the Culinary team's design & build efforts for their food operations throughout EMEA.

This dynamic leader, passionate connector and problem solver will work with multiple cross-functional entities to develop, coordinate and follow their progress, and oversee project execution.

The role requires strong organizational, strategic, technical and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have to have a good understanding of the culinary team's build program and requirements, that will allow them to think independently, make constructive recommendations for program improvements, and problem solve quickly.

We are looking for an experienced individual that is diligent, detail-oriented, proactive, works very well both independently and in a team, and has demonstrated excellent judgment and decision-making skills.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Culinary Manager on development and design of culinary projects within the EMEA region
  • Manage design and construction projects for the Culinary team, including master schedule and budgets, design and construction process, space planning, concept development, project turnover, change and opening processes
  • Guide the design and development teams on how to best create engaging and exciting food spaces in order to deliver unique experiences for our staff including collecting and sharing best practices across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Understand and identify the unique complexities of each project early on in the process in order to objectively identify the most capable resources, specifically but not limited to restaurant/cafe designer and food service equipment consultant.
  • Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the Culinary team with our clients work streams, with special focus on Space Planning, Workplace Design, and Facilities/Construction PM teams
  • Ensure final sign-off for all milestone project phases from block planning to project completion including schematic design, and design development, as well as mid and final review of all finishes and FF&E items are met to maintain schedule.
  • Maintain high standards of QA/QC - flag deficiencies, follow/push level of progress across team of stakeholders
  • Communication: improve the coordination, tracking and communication of project requirements, priorities, and status to key stakeholders
  • Create frameworks and road maps for how to improve culinary program incorporation into overall projects
  • Establish and oversee documentation and development of Culinary Program Guidelines and Design Standards, Best Practices
  • Support team in developing and managing a long-term strategic roadmap while simultaneously executing milestones and project tasks exceptionally well.
  • Engage, influence and inspire others, and should be sought out for expertise, assistance and mentorship

Project Manager Requirements:

  • Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience including: organization, communication, and collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Experience working with corporate real estate teams, managing capital improvement projects for existing and new facilities.
  • Experience in all aspects of Project Delivery, especially culinary projects, managing programming, planning, design, and construction processes.
  • Experience within food service or retail operations and flow either through direct experience or professional design work.
  • Experience with food service operations and flow either through direct experience or professional design work.
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with technical cross-functional teams and communicating across partners/teams and project consultants
  • Experience building relationships at all levels of the internal organization
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to succinctly and effectively communicate to all levels in the internal organization and the general public
