The role will involve carrying out pro-active maintenance duties in a busy slate quarry and its manufacturing facilities on associated equipment, as well as responding to plant breakdowns. Other duties will include planned preventative maintenance to ensure plant and equipment on site are safe, working effectively and fit for purpose.
You will work with the site management to maintain high plant availability and production efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a fixed/ mobile plant fitter within an extractive or heavy industrial environment and have a full UK driving licence. It is desirable that you are qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have experience in maintaining mechanical fixed plant and welding/fabrication.
As well as working as part of our existing maintenance team, you will also be required on occasion to work on your own using your own initiative, so it is important you have good problem-solving skills. Some weekend work will be required.
