To provide specialist knowledge and expertise for the sourcing, delivery and ongoing use of commercial vehicles.
To coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, inspections, and regulatory compliance to ensure fleet assets are fit-for-purpose and can deliver service requirements.
Duties
Establish and maintain systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure the council's commercial fleet complies with legislative requirements, with a focus on staff adherence.
Oversee the procurement of vehicles, whether through lease contracts, short-term hires, or purchases, ensuring alignment with the fleet procurement strategy, Contract Standing Orders, legal and sustainability requirements, and emissions restrictions
Provide expert guidance on vehicle suitability, fleet optimisation strategies, and sustainable options, collaborating with business units to refine vehicle specifications as needed.
