Job Title: Fleet Support Engineer

Location : Derby ( Travelling)

Hybrid Working

Duties:

  • Validate that railway vehicles meet safety standards for operation while honouring lease responsibilities.
  • Assess National Incident Reports impacting relevant rolling stock and oversee necessary corrective measures.
  • Fine-tune maintenance requirements to mitigate risks to railway operations, improving Reliability and Maintainability.
  • Assist in executing unit upgrades and improvement initiatives to bolster delivery efforts.
  • Oversee Operator-led maintenance, ensuring timely and accurate completion of mandated tasks.
  • Aid in fulfilling maintenance contracts as needed.
  • Supervise suppliers to ensure adherence to specified contractual obligations.
  • Monitor engineering quality at supplier's and contractor's sites, meeting both Business and customer's requirements.
  • Assist in developing and advising on audits per Business plan, overseeing Corrective Action Request's closure.
  • Support and supervise the condition of the company's rolling stock assets, reporting conditions to the Operator and alerting the Fleet Asset Manager to identified issues.
  • Provide assistance to the Fleet Asset Manager during contract negotiations when necessary.
  • Actively manage the engineering change process among the business, customers, and suppliers
  • Lead proactive reliability investigations and initiatives to enhance fleet performance, boosting reliability for future leasing prospects.
  • Conduct and assist in technical investigations to address areas of low reliability, devising appropriate corrective measures.
  • Actively leverage Remote Condition Monitoring on equipped fleets to bolster Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability.
  • Develop business cases and execution strategies for proposed vehicle modifications and services.
  • Engage with the Company's team and external suppliers to explore cutting-edge technologies for improving fleet performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the business and customer fleet operations, fostering relationships at all organisational levels

Ideal Candidate:

  • Rail Experience speaking with Stakeholders
  • Knowledge on Operating leases
  • Knowledge of Maintenance and Overhaul
  • Degree or Engineering Discipline
