Location: Westminster, SW1P

Business Area: Kier Facilities Management - Ministry of Justice & Home Office

Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Multi-Skilled Electrician, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, the Ministry of Justice & Home Office, covering historic public buildings in Westminster, London.

Key Responsibilities

As a focused and reactive Multi-Skilled Electrician, you will deliver a combination of electrical, mechanical, water and building fabric planned (PPM), reactive, quoted, and extra works engineering services specialising in electrical disciplines. You will be assisting in ensuring Kier deliver a safe, customer focused, cost effective, efficient, and compliant service in order to meet its contractual and legal obligations.

Electrical activities will include lighting and power installation works, re-lamping of fittings and general repair, socket replacement, and other repairs or installations; carrying out electrical tests such as annual emergency light testing, DB and RCD checks, testing and certification of all works in accordance with NICEIC regulations; and basic general maintenance activities such as making good, and minor carpentry or plumbing repairs.

You should also be comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, and in plant rooms; working alone or in a team; and be comfortable moving/transporting tooling & access equipment of all sizes & weights.

What do we need from you?

We're looking for a Qualified Electrician (e.g. City & Guilds/NVQ) with 18th Edition Wiring, Inspect and Test (2391), who is able to demonstrate general Engineer competence.

To be a Multi-Skilled Electrician with Kier, you'll bring with you previous experience in commercial building services / facilities management/; and as a bonus, you may have PASMA, Working At Height, IPAF certification, and L8 Legionella awareness.

Whilst there is no callout and standby for this role, overtime for after-hours & weekends may be available.
