Forklift driver / goods in operative required for a engineering client based in Glen Parva, Leicestershire.

The candidate must have forklift driver / goods in operative experience but the candidate doesn't need to have a valid licence as they can be trained in house. The candidate also must have goods in experience and be ok physically moving things around. The candidate will be on his/her feet as well as being on the countebalance forklift truck.

With the location being in Leicester the candidate must be ok commuting to and from Leicester. The specific location for this engineering client is Glen Parva. The client prefers candidates who are Leicester based.

The forklift driver / goods in operative candidate doesn't need to have worked in an engineering environment in the past but must have warehouse and manufacturing experience.

Shifts:

07:30am-16:30pm Monday to Thursday

07:30-13:30pm Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
  • Taking responsibility for a company's freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work
  • Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
  • Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Managers or Supervisors
  • Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
  • Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
  • Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
  • Assisting with warehouse inventory controls, which typically involves using a hand-held scanner
  • Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times
  • Operating the counterbalance truck when needed
