Your role as a FTTP Programme Planning Manager

This role will require you to take full ownership and accountability of the Falcon cluster delivery plans, working closely with the cluster leads to create surveys and manage the build and civils daily trackers, in accordance with the delivery schedule.

Key responsibilities as a FTTP Programme Planning Manager

  • Providing accurate daily reporting of the whereabouts and beenabouts trackers
  • Prioritising and scheduling all works activities for the teams
  • Managing the CDP (cluster data packs) and works data returns (handshake glides)
  • Carrying out regular accreditation checks on both supply chain and direct labour
  • Working alongside the training team to ensure all competencies and accreditations are up to date
  • For any accreditations required, work alongside the training team to schedule a programme for appropriate training
  • Supporting the cluster leads in providing detailed updates on both survey and build glides, in preparation for meeting with the Client and Local Highway Authorities
  • Re-cutting glides should delivery be impacted by in week complex issues and pro-actively updating data to be presentable for the cluster leads
  • Liaising with the Local Highway Authorities, maintaining positive working relationships and ensuring the appropriate notices and permits are agreed and managed in compliance with the programme schedules
  • Liaising with utility suppliers when required to arrange site meetings and permits to dig, enabling civils works to take place
Throughout your role you will ensure prompt and accurate completion and return of relevant compliance documentation. You will support the project management and operational delivery teams to successfully meet and exceed both Kier/Openreach expectations, ensuring staff are regularly monitored and motivated to deliver the highest possible standards and jeopardy managing of works to ensure that the required by date delivery and volume delivery targets are met.

To be a successful FTTP Programme Planning Manager we need from you

  • Experienced in Utility / Highways works with strong previous experience of the communications industry at a similar level including FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing
  • Desirable that you have an in-depth knowledge of Openreach specifications & documentation, however this isn't essential. Ideally you will have been involved in similar workstreams, i.e., Openreach works or other fibre network delivery programmes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are paramount with the ability to motivate a successful team. This will also include a proven ability to build strong relationships and exceed client expectations
  • It is essential that you can drive and have a valid UK driving licence
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel etc. A Project Management qualification is also desirable
Objectives of a FTTP Programme Planning Manager

  • Ensuring correct amount of work has been scheduled for the appropriate teams
  • Productivity outputs measured daily to ensure maximum work outputs, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Surveys to be completed 1 month prior to quarter start date
  • Civils works to be completed 2 weeks ahead of build start date
  • Build glide to be inline with delivery plan taking into consideration AGG closest to exchange and daisy chain PONs
