Reporting to the Area Supervisor, the Ganger will lead a Highways Maintenance team or teams and carry out a range of Highways maintenance duties which will include defect repairs, emergency response; minor civils; drainage and carriageway surfacing. The ganger will ensure compliance with all Kier SHEQ processes & procedures; maintain productivity and deliver a high standard of workmanship
About the role
- Supervise the works team ensuring all works are carried out safely in accordance with your Construction Phase Plan; Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and company operating procedures.
- Supervising the timekeeping of all staff under your leadership and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
- Ensure a Safety Briefing is issued to the works team prior to commencing work.
- Ensure Daily Checks are completed on all fleet and plant ensuring maintenance is carried out in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
- Carry out a range of work activities including kerbing, surfacing, drainage, concrete repairs (including structural), paving etc.
- Ensuring waste is minimised and the works team are productive at all times.
- Ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all times by all staff under your control.
- Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme
- First aid certificate.
- NRSWA - Operative
- 12D traffic management Units T1 & T2
- Current driving licence up to HGV Class C + E.
