Location: Covering Gosport Borough area

Business Area: Kier Places - Housing Maintenance - Gosport Borough Council Partnership

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week + standby & call outs

Kier Places are recruiting now for a Gas Engineer to join our Housing Maintenance team in Gosport to support our Gosport Borough Council Partnership, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a housing maintenance & repairs service to the residents of Gosport, through repairs, maintenance & installations of heating systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Gas Engineer with Kier, you will undertake heating installation, with some servicing, repairs & testing as required, to provide high quality, 'right first time', cost effective building services to the business and its customers. Some minor after-trade work may be required.

You will be expected to conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, Safe Systems of Work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimising damage to the fabric of the property, and adhere to the Kier Group Safety, Health and Environment Management System ('KGSHEMS') requirements at all times.

What do we need from you?

The ideal Gas Engineer will have experience with installation of heating systems - maintenance experience would be a bonus; should hold relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, CENWAT, CCN1, CPA1, HTR1, CKR1); and have worked in social housing / housing maintenance environments. It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of Valiant heating systems & Vented/Unvented Hot Water Systems.

Due to the nature of this role, you should have a full driving licence, be prepared to conduct regular travel across Gosport day-to-day, and be able to participate in the out of hours & weekends emergency on-call out rota.
