Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Covering South London sites- from City of London, to Battersea, to Forest Hill, to Greenwich

Business Area: Facilities Management + London Fire & Rescue Authority

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Package: £42,000 Company van + standby & call out, including out of hours & weekends

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Mobile Gas Engineer, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard & Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, the London Fire & Rescue Authority.

Key Responsibilities

As a focused Mobile Gas Engineer, you will be attending and completing reactive works & deliver planned maintenance tasks within the contract KPIs, and some light installation work. The types of PPM we cover include gas boilers, gas water heaters, gas pipework testing, gas air heaters and gas radiant tube heaters.

You will be trusted to manage unsafe situations via warning notices and be able to communicate with the client on behalf of the company. This role requires someone who can manage workloads, meet deadlines, and arrange quotations of remedial jobs over £500.

What do we need from you?

Is this the opportunity for you? The successful Gas Engineer for this role should be Commercial Gas Safe Qualified in gas boilers, water heaters, tube heaters, gas air heaters, pipework, tightness testing and purging. This includes qualifications such as a relevant Level 3, and valid Commercial Gas tickets (such as COCN1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, etc.) - it would be a bonus if you have PASMA / IPAF certification, and L8 Legionella awareness.

You should have general engineer competence, a solid understanding of SFG20, and experience of delivering of works to a timescale. There is an opportunity for the right person to become the Gas QC for this contract.

Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
