Business area: Utilities - South West Water
Introduction: Kier and its partnership with South West Water are passionate about water, we help provide high quality drinking and waste water service throughout Cornwall, Devon, Bournemouth and small parts of Somerset. We work as part of a Framework delivering civil schemes across the regions in the South West, whether it be responding to fix a water leak or replacing a main on planned works, we will be there ensuring we complete the works in a safe and timely way.
Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure adequate resource availability at all times to deliver the service, including but not limited to transport, plant, small tools, consumables, aggregates, water works materials.
  • Work closely with the Delivery and Planning Manager regarding field staff levels required to meet peaks and troughs.
  • Thoroughly investigate and review all accidents, near misses and hazards and present the findings to the Alliance with root cause analysis and proposals for improvement in process, systems and behaviour
  • Support the delivery of the all targets through careful management of resource and targeted completion of specific activities.
  • Understanding of the water network and knowledge of techniques available to maintain, improve and repair
Skills and experience required:
  • Previous experience in the Utility industry would be advantageous
  • 5 Day Safety Management Qualification (SMSTS).
  • Water Passport/HygieneIT skills (Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • Sound Technical & Operational knowledge
