We're looking for a General Operative to join our Transportation Team based in Staines. Working on our prestigious Transport for London (TfL) contract, which we will be leading on for the next 8 years, with the possibility to extend up to 12 years. Location: Wraysbury Junction 13, Staines, Middlesex

Contract: Full time, nights and days



Responsibilities

As a General Operative, you'll be working within the Highways operations team forming part of a large work force safely delivering reactive & planned maintenance duties on the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN), such as installing and fixing kerbs, foot paths, carriageways and tarmac works. High speed traffic management, incident response and seasonal winter maintenance.



Your day to day will include:

  • Adhering to Kier health and safety measures, using a variety of plant and equipment, ensuring the site and company equipment is always secure
  • Operating within different teams you will form part of our call out rota system covering immediate response throughout the year and seasonal winter maintenance duties / call outs between October & April
  • Safely using tarmac and other materials carrying out repairs including raking and rolling patches to an auditable standard
  • Working in all weather conditions, carrying out work on site, in the public domain
  • Using technology such as tablets for record keeping and point of work risk assessments


  • Who are we looking for?

    This role of a General Operative is great for you if you have:

  • A full driving licence with HGV (Minimum Class 3)
  • Current or previous NRSWA accreditations
  • A strong grasp of health and safety within the highways industry
