General Operative / Driver (Surface Treatment)

This role has a particular focus on surface treatments on the UK highway network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking site operations as directed and could include operating of vehicles or plant, using codes of practices and in compliance with Kier policy's and all health & safety regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Site duties.
- Carry out surface treatment work as issued.
- Ensure that work is completed to a high standard within a reasonable time scale.
- Complete the required paperwork that will be submitted when required.
- To be able to carry out on site risk assessments & raise issues when circumstances arise.
- Work flexibly and carry out any suitable duty requested of you.
- Take ownership of issues on site.
- Establish good working relationships with supervisors, foreman and other staff.
- Ensure wastage of materials is kept to a minimum.
- Whilst driving / operating vehicles or plant, Ensure all daily checks are carried out and that the vehicle is driven in a safe and courteous manner and within legal requirements at all times.
- Working toward providing a high quality, cost effective service to our clients.
- Carry out your responsibilities in an efficient and safe manner.
- Behave at all times in a manner that is befitting of a Kier employee and that you do not act in a manner which may bring the Company, the client or its agents to disrepute.
- Ensure all company Health and Safety requirements are adhered to and appropriate protective clothing is worn at all times.
Key Skills and Qualifications: Essential
- Experience in Surface Treatments and Highway Maintenance Industry
- A good general education
- Commercial awareness
- Have reasonable written and numerical skills
- Full UK Drivers Licence
- Sector Scheme 12d Qualifications (M1/2)
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card - Blue - Operatives
- First Aid certificate
- Holder of a CPC Card
- Holder of CAT C driving Licence
