Title: Senior Planner/Planner - General Works

Location: Within 1 hours' commute of Loughton, Essex


Business area: Buildings
Introduction: Based in Debden, Essex the candidate will also be able to commute to multiple sites within the M25 area. Undertaking preconstruction and construction phase planning within the London Region across a wide range of projects with values from £0.5m to £100m, the successful candidate will work predominantly, but not exclusively, for our General Works department which focuses on projects up to £5m in value. Working across multiple sectors including:
  • Health & Science
  • Residential
  • Commercial
  • Education
The candidate will be responsible for undertaking planning duties on several live projects working closely with the respective project teams to achieve successful delivery. Responsibilities:
  • Establishing a fully Integrated Master Programme incorporating Design, Procurement and Construction activities.
  • Developing detailed Integrated Target/Construction Programmes.
  • Assist the project team with the development of logistics strategies.
  • Progress monitoring & reporting.
  • Work with the project team to identify potential opportunities for programme betterment and to identify potential delays so that mitigation strategies can be implemented.
  • Delay analysis.
Additionally, the candidate will be required to undertake Tender Planning duties which will include:
  • Developing a fully integrated Tender Programme.
  • Developing methodology & logistics proposals.
  • Analysis of key plant and access requirements.
  • Attending client interviews.
  • Working with the tender team to deliver an innovative and 'winning' bid.
As a Senior Planner the candidate may be responsible for the supervision and development of junior members of the planning team.


Skills and Experience:
  • Construction related academic qualification (BSc, HNC/D etc.)
  • Extensive experience in the Construction industry
  • Experienced user of Powerproject.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is desirable
