Our client is looking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Research and Development team to design and develop measuring instruments used in a wide range of environments.
Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer: Main Duties
* Be responsible for the mechanical design cycle of new products from initial concept through to Production release
* Design components for machining, 3D printing and sheet metal forming
* Generation of 2D/3D technical drawings, BOMs and instruction manuals
* Interfacing with customers and suppliers
* Identify product and project risks
* Use of ERP system to generate part numbers
* Other duties as requested by R&D Manager or Director of the Company
Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer Skills/Competencies
Essential:
* 2D & 3D CAD Modelling using Solid Edge design tools
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, 3D printing and sheet metal forming
* Skilled in technical drawing
* Understanding of revision control of documentation
* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
* Be computer literate with good typing skills
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Desirable:
* Design of Electro-mechanical assemblies
* FEA using software such as ANSYS
Qualifications
* BSc or higher degree in appropriate science or engineering discipline
