An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and forward-thinking construction consultancy based in Nottinghamshire. ROLE
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with experienced cost managers and project teams to deliver high-quality pre- and post-contract services across a diverse project portfolio. The role offers exposure to every aspect of the cost management lifecycle, ensuring you gain the practical knowledge and experience needed for professional accreditation.
You will receive mentoring and structured learning as part of your professional development journey, with plenty of opportunity to get involved in live projects from day one.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of the Graduate Quantity Surveyor include:
Pre-contract support:
Measurement of civil engineering, highway, and building works
Data capture and benchmarking analysis
Development of order of cost estimates and cost plans
Assisting with procurement and tender strategy reports
Production of tender documentation and supporting the tender process
Performing tender analysis and preparing contract documents
Post-contract support:
Evaluating contractor applications for payment
Managing variations and supporting change control processes
Producing interim cost reports for clients
Assisting in final account negotiations and settlements
PERSON
The ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. You will demonstrate:
Essential:
A Quantity Surveying-related degree (preferably RICS-accredited)
Excellent communication, organisational, and people skills
High attention to detail and a drive for quality work
Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks independently
Confidence and motivation, with a problem-solving mindset
Competence in Microsoft Excel and other standard IT software
A positive and professional attitude, even under pressure
Desirable:
A valid UK driving licence
Relevant work experience in the construction or property sectors
Interest in sustainability and carbon reduction
Interest in digital technology and innovation in construction
REMUNERATION

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
