Group Marketing Manager

Part time / home working with some travel

North West / North East

If you are an experienced B2B marketing specialist, looking for an interesting and varied role that offers flexible working hours, then we may have the role for you.

Our client owns a group of four manufacturing businesses based in the North East, Humberside, Leeds and Greater Manchester, with combined revenues of £8m. Each business within the group operates independently and in different sectors. Historically, they have each grown organically and relied upon word of mouth, repeat custom and website referrals for their sales.

The owner wishes to bring in an experienced marketing manager to help the businesses grow their revenues and reduce their reliance on a small number of key customers.

The role:

The role will be to develop marketing plans and lead generation systems for each entity, and then oversee the day to day implementation of the plans and measure marketing performance. You will work alongside each business' General Manager and existing sales staff but will report directly to the group owner. The role may also involve identifying future new business acquisitions with the owner.

  • Partner with each business to develop strategy and marketing plans; help to develop, design and implement marketing campaigns; collaborating with the team to engage a new but relevant audience.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans including value proposition development, positioning and messaging.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive intelligence, customer intelligence and data analytics to support marketing, product management, and advise on marketing technology and key investment decisions.

About you:

  • A track record of success in marketing gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of analytics.
  • Deep technical knowledge of business to business marketing channels - on and off line.
  • Technically competent in LinkedIn Marketing and other professional marketing tools.

As a part time role with flexible working hours, the ideal candidate would be someone with great marketing experience in the manufacturing/engineering space but who is looking for a better work/life balance in a varied role, with the potential to make a big impact.

It will be necessary from time to time to visit each business, but the role can either be based at one of the businesses or it can be a work from home role.

By applying for this role, your details will be sent to Ortolan People, who are engaged to provide recruitment support in processing applications. We will endeavour to respond to all applicants within three working days. Occasionally for roles with a very high volume of applicants, this may not be possible.
