Job Purpose:
To support and engage with our HE student community. This role will actively promote the opportunities available to students through Higher Level study at City College Plymouth and support with widening participation into Higher Education (HE). This role supports the College in providing a high quality HE learner experience through the promotion and design of enhancement initiatives. The post is also pivotal to support the recruitment, retention and achievement of current HE students through administering key processes and signposting the support available to HE students where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support and promote the internal progression of level 3 students onto Higher Education through the organisation and delivery of events
2. Support with marketing activities to promote Higher Education provision internally and externally, including UCAS fairs and visits to local schools, delivering talks and activities when appropriate
3. Support the promotion of Higher Education at the college through the use of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
4. Provide excellent customer service for the HE Department, whether dealing with visitors, clients, students or staff
5. Co-ordinate the Peer Assisted Learning scheme (PALs) and oversee its effective implementation while reviewing student feedback
6. Improve the College's HE Student and Staff Community through the organisation of extra-curricular activities and student led projects
7. Train and co-ordinate the HE student representatives and HE student ambassadors
8. Support with the capturing of the student voice, including the SPQ and NSS surveys, student focus groups and student representative meetings reporting on student feedback to ensure it informs decision-making
9. Support with the administration of admissions, ensuring a timely response to all applicants
10. Act as a first point of contact within the HE Department for HE students, ensuring their needs are responded to promptly, clearly and efficiently
11. Organise and minute HE Student Support meetings to aid in the retention and achievement of HE students
12. Administer the Extenuating Circumstances and Chronic Ill Health processes
13. Support with the HE student complaint process, ensuring the requirements of the Consumer Markets Authority and Office of the Independent Adjudicators are met

14. Liaise with the student union at the University of Plymouth and the College to enhance the HE student experience
15. Liaise with and signpost the College support teams to enhance the support received by our students and promote available services
16. Improve the HE Student Alumni Community through contact with current and past students
17. Co-ordinate the applicant journey from joining instructions to induction, ensuring new and returning students have a positive experience at all stages
18. Carry out specific administration tasks as directed by the Head of HE and HE Officer.
