We're looking for a Head of Bid Management to join our Infrastructure team based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire. Within this role you can enjoy 26 days annual leave, sharesave scheme, family friendly policies and even more.

Responsibilities

As the Head of Bid Management, you'll be a key member of the preconstruction team working closely with the other functional heads - estimating, planning, design management, commercial and submissions - to ensure that we create compelling tenders and sustainable and profitable projects.

You will be expected to directly lead on some tenders as well as providing oversight, guidance and support to the bid managers on other tenders.

You will also liaise with our internal Kier and external partners in the development of alliance or joint venture bids.

Your day to day will include:

  • Manage a team of bid managers for our major projects tenders
  • Ensure bid managers are carrying out pre-work for tenders and PQQ's
  • Ensure that the bid managers are identifying how they will win tenders and why a client should award work to Kier
  • Drive continuous improvement in our approach to tenders
  • Ensure commonality of approach across our portfolio of tenders
  • Ensure that risk is being identified and effectively mitigated
  • Ensure a disciplined approach to completion of tasks and Governance through the tender period
  • Manage individual bids as appropriate
What are we looking for?

This role of Head of Bid Management is great for you if:

  • Have a demonstrable success rate in leading major multi-disciplinary infrastructure bids
  • Have experience of working on or preferably leading civil engineering or construction projects
  • Have a good working knowledge of estimating, planning, design, commercial and written submissions
  • Are used to identifying and controlling risk
  • Can prepare for and chair efficient meetings
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Have experience of working in a joint venture environment
  • Can work within and satisfy Governance requirements
