The Head of BIM and Digital (Construction) is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, coordination and governance for information management using BIM across the Construction business stream.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for functional leadership of BIM (consisting of 18 BIM specialists, with BIM Managers reporting indirectly) as well as functional leadership of document control. This role is also the discipline lead for 'digital' and forms part of a core team of workstream leads delivering Kier's 'Digital by Default' programme.

As well as having a detailed understanding and knowledge of the standards underpinning the BIM process and specifically the UK BIM Framework (ISO 19650 series etc.), expert soft skills are essential with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels throughout the business. A close working relationship with all departments/disciplines will be required, especially with IT, Design Management and Quality.

An external industry presence and input via groups such as the UK BIM Alliance will be required, to ensure Kier are represented, contribute and gain insight into emerging policies and standards.

What do we need from you?

Due to the nature of the role we will need you to have knowledge of openBIM standards such as IFC and COBie to support information interoperability. Strong leadership skills with the ability to think both strategically and practically. We will also require you to have experience of implementing the 1192 suite of documents and detailed knowledge of the ISO 19650 series or standards.
