Head of Planning Kier Construction Major Projects is looking to recruit a Head of Planning. The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership and direction to the Planning team to provide integrated project programme.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the Client, Board and senior management team are aware of all relevant reports and progress information.
  • Support and manage the team to identify risks, key issues and solutions throughout the planning process.
  • Provide relevant bid support at tender stage.
  • Oversee independent reporting of design, procurement and progress.
  • Develop and maintain a database of realistic outputs for common activities and downtime.
  • Monitor performance and progress, seeking to remove barriers that hinder performance.
  • Through objective setting and coaching, support your teams to find their own way to achieve business goals.
  • Promote and exemplify positive and professional behaviour.
  • Inspire a shared vision, ensuring the visibility of business priorities.
  • Maintain responsibility for own performance, continually developing skills and knowledge.
  • Develop key inter-client relationships to ensure customer focus at all times.
  • Develop training programs to suit the business needs.
  • Raise the bar; challenge performance standards and always seek to improve.
  • Create a high performance culture to achieve success.
  • Manage the continuous development of planning best practice.
  • Comply with Planning guidelines for the relevant business unit.
  • Support delivery teams, inputting as built data and assisting with drop lines and re-scheduling.
  • Liaise with appropriate supply chain partners on key trades to support our planning process.
  • Place the customer at the heart of all decision making and activity, develop and role model excellent customer relationships.
  • Understand Kier Group and Kier Construction KPI's and how these relate to the service that we provide to our clients. Ensure compliance and implementation of these KPI requirements.
  • Promote and exemplify positive and professional behaviour.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Have a Construction related HNC/Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Be an effective communicator, level headed and a good team player.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Experience of Asta Power Projects.
