Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, 40hours - Monday to Friday

Kier Places is seeking to appoint a Head of Technical Assurance to lead our technical excellence team to consolidate both the statutory and mandatory compliance activities across a broad range of FM and HM contracts. In addition to this there will the opportunity to lead the drive for technical service innovation and a move towards data driven maintenance regimes.

As a key member of the Kier Places management team there will be a requirement to lead certain business improvement or efficiency projects to ensure delivery of the business plan and roll out of performance excellence.

A national role your base office will be Basingstoke, Hampshire, ideally you will be located so as to allow for frequent visits to contracts, clients and other Kier offices.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Technical Assurance, consolidate the reporting of all mandatory, statutory and non-statutory activities throughout Kier Places, ensure current registrations with gas, electrical, water and fire bodies are maintained with a suitably qualified Principal Duty Holder in place discharging their duties in line with the minimum requirement and lead and consolidate all audit requirements associated with gas, electrical, fire and water and ensure all contracts are carrying out these activities in line with the requisite legislation.

You will also assume operational leadership for the Technical Excellence team and create a supportive relationship with the operational teams across Kier Places. It is of paramount importance that support, and guidance is available to the operational teams to enable the business to safely deliver on its business plan

In the Head of Technical Assurance role, you will Produce reports appertaining to operational/compliance for presentation at leadership level, highlight departures to legislation and identify control measures, and Provide professional advice in respect of meeting compliance to Statutory and Mandatory Legislation to limit Kier Places Exposure/Risk

The Head of Technical Assurance role, you will be required to lead the implementation of specific business improvement projects to drive both efficiencies and achieve the objectives described within the business plan, lead, positively promote and champion the principles of Performance Excellence throughout all tasks and activities, actively lead and direct the drive for data driven maintenance such as the IoT, remote monitoring etc and provide technical and/or assurance input to bidding activity to assist with the delivery of the business growth strategy

To make the most of this role, you will have excellent influencing and negotiating skills, ability to establish teams with appropriate skills, and to recruit, train and retain a high performance, high output team, active involvement in both the operational leadership and senior leadership teams driving consistent improvements throughout the workflow process, agility of mind to create and implement value add solutions and improvements whilst maintaining delivery in line with client expectations and KPIs and strong and effective communication skills with the ability to deliver a consistent message

Due to the nature of this role, you should hold a full driving licence & be willing to travel across the country to other offices & sites.
