About the Role
We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join a leading European contractor delivering large-scale data centre projects. This is a senior site-based role with responsibility for leading Environmental, Health & Safety strategy and performance across a major construction project.
You will ensure full compliance with legislation, the project delivery plan, and the company's Integrated Management System, while driving an industry-leading safety culture across all project disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety legislation
Implement and manage Project-Specific Environmental, Health & Safety Plans
Coordinate and review method statements, risk assessments, SPA, and permit-to-work systems
Ensure compliance with the Project Execution Plan and Good Safety Practices
Lead and manage the project EHS team, where applicable
Drive and embed a strong EHS culture across all project disciplines
Maintain effective client-facing EHS interactions and close out observations
Deliver safety briefings and awareness sessions at all levels
Manage REACH assessments, hazardous substances, and reporting to senior management
Ensure safety interventions are completed and recorded
Conduct regular site audits and inspections and close out corrective actions
Requirements
Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
Significant EHS leadership experience on large-scale construction projects
Data centre or mission-critical project experience advantageous
Proven experience managing EHS teams on complex sites
Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and best practice
Experience with digital EHS systems (e.g. BIM360 or similar) beneficial
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Process-driven with experience implementing Integrated Management Systems
Proactive, detail-focused, and adaptable to evolving project needs
