Heritage Building Surveyor Job in South East London / Hybrid Working
Heritage Building Surveyor job in South East London for an AJ Top 100 Architecture Practice. The role will be working on exciting heritage projects in mainly London and the South East, offering a salary of up to £48,000 + Travel + 25 Days Holiday + Hybrid Working + Healthcare.
Our client is an architectural practice, founded in the 1940's and has grown to over 250 people across 11 UK offices. They have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation and contemporary architecture. Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers and individuals, they have been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and in the UK and abroad with expertise in heritage projects. Due to an increase in projects, they are now looking to grow their existing building surveying team of 6 with an additional building surveyor in their South East London office. Ideally you will have experience in heritage building surveying experience from either consultancy, local authority or client side.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct Building Surveys of complex repair and refurbishment projects, sometimes with the use of specialist equipment such as drones
- Attend meetings with clients and their consultants and assist in giving appraisals of building material condition and building material performance
- Defect diagnosis
- Specification of works
- Oversee and advise on the stages and programming of construction works
- Party Wall advice
- Dilapidation surveys
- Cost estimating
- Preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids
- Undertake further training and development
- Contribute to the further growth of the building surveying team.
Required Skills & Experience
- MRICS or working towards
- IHBC is desirable but not essential
- 2+ years in building surveying post-graduation
- Heritage / conservation project experience is highly advantageous
- Direct experience of complex repair and refurbishment projects
- In-depth knowledge of building decay processes and repair techniques
- Ability to travel across London and The South East and occasionally Wales
- Own vehicle and UK Driving Licence.
