For this role you will support the Structures Manager in the project management, safety and technical accountability. You will take ownership with all activities relating to the inspection, study, design, assessment, maintenance and construction of highway structures on the trunk road & LA network as delegated on a project basis. The role of Structures Assessment Team Leader is to be a focal point for the team with respect to technical knowledge and experience in design, assessment and construction (buildability) of highway structures schemes.

What?are we looking for?
  • MIStructE or MICE, CEng Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Significant post graduate experience in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Proven assessment and/or design capability in highways structures environment
  • Ability to lead a team to successful projects
  • Substantial geotechnical engineering knowledge
  • Proven project management of highway structures projects ensuring success delivery on programme and to budget in a safe environment
  • Developing, mentoring and supervision of Highway Structures staff
  • Experience in contract document preparation and current standards (MCDHW, DMRB, Eurocodes)
  • Ability to work with or advise key clients on technical issues in the highway structures sector at a senior level
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills commensurate with key client expectations
