Location: Bristol
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime (Part-time hours available if desired, just let us know)
Salary: £36k - £40k + 26 days of annual leave + Benefits
Responsibilities
As a Highways Design Engineer, you'll provide technical support on various Highway design contracts within Kier Design & Technology Services. Current contracts include Local Authority Highway Works, National Highways Area & Regional Contracts particularly Major Projects A66 NTP and M6 Emergency Laybys.
Your day to day will include:
- Prepare preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities and reporting progress to Senior members of the team
- Production of design deliverables, Health, Safety and Welfare contract documentation in accordance with the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up proposals that satisfy client's technical specifications
Who are we looking for?
This role of Highways Design Engineer is great for you if you are:
- Working towards the Chartered qualification with the relevant institution
- Experienced in the design of UK local authority/ National Highways schemes in various aspects of Highways design such as pavements, VRS, Traffic Signs
