Key Responsibilities
In this role you will be developing, designing and reviewing solutions in accordance with national design standards, procedures and requirements, along with, any specific parameters in collaboration with the client/contractors. The role will require you to look after the production or overseeing of scheme documents including BoQs and reports in accordance with the relevant contract. You will provide technical leadership to projects, whilst ensuring production and designs comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations. Contribute to the regular reporting of progress to external and internal clients. Management and supervision of staff including resource monitoring, health & safety compliance and quality/delivery. Carrying out the checking/approval and certifying of design deliverables. Prepare cost estimates and work with the team to manage costs and programme. Review and approve design calculations, drawings and tender/contract documents.
What do we need from you?
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering
- C Eng/I Eng with appropriate Institution (ICE, CIHT, IHE) desirable or working towards achieving this
- Strong technical skills and experience of working on Highways England maintenance and design
- Previously developed contract documents in accordance with relevant contracts
- Able to work with or advise client on technical issues at a senior level
- Good working knowledge of health & safety procedures and CDM regulations
